This paper mainly studies the application of higher-order method of moments (MoM) in the design of waveguide slot array antenna. Waveguide slot array is a kind of antenna array that is cut a certain size of slot in the waveguide to form radiating elements. It is widely used in microwave communication and radar systems for its characteristics of small size, light weight, easy processing and installation, high aperture efficiency and low sidelobe, of which waveguide narrow edge slots traveling wave array gets more and more attention because of its easier achievement of the low sidelobe. As a relatively mature electromagnetic numerical method, MoM is widely applied to solve the electromagnetic radiation and scattering problems. However, due to its subdomain requirements, the traditional MoM requests the number of O(N2) in the computer memory and O(N3) in the computation cost, where N is the number of unknowns. For this reason, analysis based on low-order MoM is almost impossible for more complex objects or electrically large objects. This paper describes the basic theory of parallel high-order MoM:high-order patches, higher-order basis functions, parallel matrix filling and parallel matrix solution. The detailed features of design are discussed in this paper and a desired rectangular waveguide narrow edge slots array is designed based on the proposed design procedure. In order to certify the design principle, the radiation pattern of the array is analyzed by using parallel higher-order MoM. This verify that the algorithm is fast and accurate, and design approch is corract.
