To research modern celebrities’thoughts of archive is the important foundation forus to understand the development history of archival science in China. Zeng Guofan, asone famous minister of the resurgence in the late Qing dynasty, makes prominentcontributions with his great thoughts on political, military, cultural and other aspects,which attracts more and more attentions of experts to do relevant researches in recentyears. And through the analyses of the existed domestic literature, it can be found thatZeng Guofan’s archival thoughts have already access to researchers’ vision.In order to explore the essence of Zeng Guofan’s ideology about archive and toexploit the value orientation on archival aspect, through the use of literature analysis,comparative analysis and field research methods, the thesis comprehensively discusses theorigination, formation, features, practice and meanings of Zeng Guofan’s thoughts ofarchive in the hope that all these can provide enlightenments for the further study ofmodern celebrity’s archival thoughts.Firstly,in the introduction part, the thesis mainly introduces the background and themeanings of the selected topic, as well as the conception and methods of the present study.On the basis of the analyses on the existed domestic literature, the present studies on ZengGuofan’s thoughts of archive can be summarized as follow: studies on the origination, thefile management practice and the reference of Zeng Guofan’s thoughts of archive.Secondly,this thesis probes the origin of Zeng Guofan’s archive thoughts. Weconcluded that his archive thoughts are formed by some micro and macro aspects from thecultural, family and social origin. Moreover, we talked about the practice and applicationof his archive thoughts from his search of books, archive collection, archive protection,archive management and archive utility. It also analyzed the characteristics anddevelopment during its different phases from the emergence to its formation and maturityof his archive thoughts.This thesid proposed at last that his archive thoughts are not formed accidentally butnaturally. It was formed through long time accumulation and had different representationduring different phases. At the same time, it has its own unique models for the archivemanagement. It concluded systematically Zeng Guofan’s archive thoughts and itsenlightment to the current society which includes solving proctical problems, enhancingpropaganda and education, promoting the celebrities’ ideas.
