It is an incontestable deed that Qian Zeng was a famous book-collector of Qing Dynasty who had done great contribution to collecting and tiding up ancient books. However, Many other fields about him and his bookDushu Minqiuji that haven't been touched by many researchers, such as his thoughts of book-collecting. On the other hand, researchers have just summarized his achievements but haven't gone deep into studing, such as his edition identified methods, even some wrong conclusions had been deduced, just like (he judgment about character of Dushu Minqiuji.The whole article falls into three parts. The first part introduces the familial influence on Qian Zeng and his thoughts of book-collecting, and then traces to the sources of formation of his thoughts. The second part aims to expound Qian Zeng's methods on identifying editions, which can be divided into block-printed edition and manuscripted edition. At last, we emphasize on recognition about the character of Dushu Minqiuji again. At the same time, according to his deeds and his own's arguments, we regard the nature of this book as a preface and postscript catalog of book's collection.
