In April2009, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television issued the Notice on Strengthening the Management of the Internet Audio-visual Program Content. The notice provides that movies, TV shows, TV and movies, cartoons, theoretical literature which don’t obtained a license can’t spread on the Internet. In this background, the video website can no longer develop and gain profit by transmit the TV movies that have no copyright. Those kinds of website have to pay much more for the broadcast, film and television shows. Then, some strong video website starts the vertical expansion, develop from the simple content distribution platform to content production platform. Then, network plays produced by the powerful video website bacome more and more famous in China. The network play can be produced by not only the video website, but also any groups or individuals. It is a new kind of series play that take the audience as the guidance, follow the rules of network transmission, take the network as the starting platform. In a wide range of network play, a play named as DIORS MAN produced by Sohu Video with over1billion clicks created a miracle of network play. DIORS MAN has give many revelations to Chinese network play development both producting concept and program model.This article focuses on DIORS MAN as the research sample, analyze it by using the theories of communication and media economics. Through the data statistics and content analysis, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, explore its successes experience, and summarizes the beneficial enlightenment on the development of Chinese network play.
