In recent years,the number of BL culture original and adapted works has increased rapidly.As a special female subculture,BL culture has gradually gone from marginal culture to public view.Female consumption and aesthetics have been paid more and more attention by the capital market,but the phenomenon of pan-entertainment has also aroused widespread concern in the society.In this context,this paper aims to focus on the development of BL culture under the framework of the play theory of mass communication,combine a great deal of interview materials and field investigation,analyze the core nature,subject and channel of BL culture’s,and criticize the alienation.The rapid development of the BL culture reflects the play theory of mass communication.BL culture has been developed from the bottom up since it was introduced to China.Modern Internet technology has enabled the audience to gradually become the main body of communication,the construction of fan identity,the expansion of interesting groups,the emergence of productive fans.BL culture,originally based on the subjective imagination of individuals,which benefits from a highly self-involved tool: gamification medias,is developing rapidly with the increase in the number and subjectivity of internet users.The gamification of BL culture extends the boundaries of the subculture by creating primary playgrounds for personal issues and advanced playgrounds for social and hierarchical order.However,the gamification of BL culture is easy to be used by capital,resulting in alienation.In the process of market recruitment and cultural industry integration,the production of BL is gradually alienated into a symbolic and counter-cultural BL landscape.BL consumption is gradually alienated,the consumer market has expanded the contact surface of BL culture,but the lack of corresponding market order,BL image symbols overflow,selling corruption is normalized,and the broken BL culture constantly touches the red line of laws and systems;Beauty value alienation,numerous contradictions highlight,pathological aesthetic orientation and chaotic gender system,obscure male consumption and erotic expression,the hidden misogyny behind the absence of women,the remote cognition dominated by residual pleasure.Through critical research,it provides further reflection on the future development of BL culture.
