With the improvement of people’s living quality, tourism has become one of the major entertainments. The form of traditional tourism is single, which greatly limits the autonomy of tourism. The rise of self-service tourism could meet people’s various requirements, electronic guide system will become a tourism necessity. However, the current electronic guide products have disadvantages of single function, inconvenience to carry and high cost. The intelligent self-service guide system will be the future development trend of electronic guide system. So this dissertation designs a self-service guide system based on Android intelligent mobile phone platform. It is an important part of smart tourism system. Visitors can do self-positioning and get information about tourist places quickly using the system.First of all, the overall architecture of self-service guide system was design-ed. WiFi localization technology and GPS localization principle was deeply researched. WiFi positioning algorithm based on fingerprinting was improved. And the algorithm combined with the GPS technique was applied to visitor locationing.Secondly, according to the requirement of system, server, database and system application layer communication protocol were designed. In the view of the server, in order to request for real-time crowd traffic statistics, this dissertation put forward a kind of solution based on distributed processing and dynamic cache technology.Finally, this dissertation set up Android software development platform. And self-service guide system client was designed. Functions include self location, crowd traffic statistics, attractions and nearby query and attractions multimedia introduction were implemented. Besides, each module of system was tested.In this dissertation, the self-service guide system can be applied in different environments. Friendly user interface can be used in the self-service travel and travel planning. Test results show that:under a certain environment, using the impoved WiFi positioning algorithm based on fingerprinting, the average position error of positioning module is about two meters. The system shows a better positioning performance, it can be applied to the actual tourism attractions through further improving.
