Location based service(LBS) is one of the basic services of the mobile Internet. Since insufficiency of GPS and AGPS based on the cellular network in power consumption, limited position area and low position accuracy, WiFi-based positioning technology has great practical significance. WiFi-based positioning technology can meet the mobile Internet location services which should be widely available, high speed and low energy consumption. is a viable method of positioning technology that can break through the bottleneck in the field of mobile Internet. Here introduced some WiFi-based positioning systems in research and market application, explored their insufficient in LBS application, then a WiFi positioning system based on location fingerprint identification was designed and implemented on the Android platform. The positioning system consists of the location server and client, position algorithm is based on the location fingerprint identification method. Compared with the general position method, a process which converts indoor coordinates to outdoor coord is introduced into this system. Indoor position can also be accurately represented on the map, facilitate to future binding indoor coordinate and showing user’s location. Using the method of selecting relevant reference point, eliminate with irrelevant position match, reduce the time of match in large database:combined devices signal difference correction method, is certainly help to improve the positioning accuracyResults show that the pre-selected reference point method can contribute to reduce the positioning time; the device correction in positioning accuracy can be improved to a certain extent.
