In order to solve the problem of the transmission and the storage of data under theC/S structure,two kinds of encryption device are designed in this paper.One is USBencryption device serving as a client in the network,which is used to protect sensitive dataduring the network transmission.The other is PCI cipher card running on a network datastorage server,which is used to protect the data stored on the disk of the server.Thehardware and software of the terminal cipher device and PCI card encryption board aredesigned in this paper. And according to the design,the program processing data and otherprogram modules are developed.A USB encryption device is a small embedded system that consists of ARMprocessors and the Linux Operating System,and are used to provide services of dataencryption and decryption.For the sake of security of the USB encryption device,theprocedure of equipment parameter configuration is designed and implemented throughsource code.A USB encrption device provides the data encryption service.In order totransmit data safely,the data is delivered from the sender pernal computer to the USBencryption device to encrypt through the USB line firstly,and the ciphertext,encrpyted data,is transmitted to the reciever personal computer through the network.Also,the encryption,decryption,signature and verification of the data in the USBencryption device are designed in this paper and implemented by software.A PCI cipher card used to provide encryption service for the data stored in disk is pluggedin the slot of a large scale network storage server whose operating system isSolaris.Through analysing the safety problem of the data stored on the network disk,thesolution that utilizes the PCI cipher card to encrypt the data is proposed in this papter.Thedata stored on the server will be transmitted to the PCI cipher card to encrypt through PCIbus,and then the ciphertext will be stored on the network disk under the cooperation of PCIcipher card and the server disk controler.According to the function of PCI cipher card,thehardware the corresponding feature is designed in this paper.The designed embeddedsystem can be stable for data decryption and encryption. The Cryptographic Service itprovides is safe and reliable.Under the framework of C/S client data is encrypted by the USB encryptiondevice,and then is transmitted as a ciphertext through the network,which guarantees thedata security of end-to-end transmission process.Furthermore, the PCI cipher card running on the network storage server will encrypt the data to store,which can reduce thedata leakage problem.Embedded encryption and decryption devices can provide userswith data safe, reliable, efficient cryptographic services to ensure data security.
