With people entering the era of information, the requirement for the security of the data which will be transmitted ,stored or processed will be more and more exigent and important. The aspects that information security has been researched are abroad , and encrpytion techniques is one of the most important key technique. In this thesis, the author studied on the encryption sever ,based on Linux platform, which is the kernel of the information security system of the hospitalization insurance system. The main results are:· The design of the whole framework of the encryption sever based on Linux platform is accomplished, including hardware and software. The encryption server is provided with self-contained function, security and reliability .· Linux PCI encryption card driver is designed and realized based on the study of the Linux kernel.· All kinds of aspects are taken into account for the encryption server's security. An security mechanism that personnel application program and database are restricted each other is put forward.· An new method about data storage with encryption based on keylib is designed.· A general SEC_API is designed and realized. It based on framework with four layers and has usability, security, agility and so on.It does good for enhancing the reliability of the system.· From practice,an model on the relationship between the software reliability and the hardware reliability is put forward and a method to analyse the system reliability is designed.· Ways to enhance the system reliability are introduced, such as Load Equilibrium and movement of the security passage. The arithmetic about Load Equilibrium is designed and improved on.
