in traditional community, terminal device include: visual talkback, background music, announcing information, control of gate system, and alarm system. These devices are separate systems, their video and audio transmitt in analog signals, but control signal is transmitted through RS485. These product have many defects, such as, severe distortion in long distance transmission, easily disturbed, hard to expand, all signals can't be transmitted through on one cable, hard to route for the network, hard to maintain.Recently, intelligent community terminal devices appear with the prevalence of the concept of intelligent community, but there is no good model to tell us, which functions the intelligent community terminal devices should include, and how to realize these functions. Different designers have different realizations, so we should not only realize our conception in the intelligent community terminal devices, but also make sure that the intelligent community terminal devices are easily to be expanded.In our concept, we want to integrate most functions of traditional products into our intelligent community terminal devices, and provide a useful integrated digital product. In this thesis, we give a design of intelligent community terminal device developing platform, which is based on powerful embedded processor and embedded Linux OS.
