Design Of RF Switch Matrix Based On3GPP36.141

The3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is collaboration between groups oftelecommunications associations, known as the Organizational Partners. The initial scopeof3GPP was to make a globally applicable third-generation (3G) mobile phone systemspecification based on evolved Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM)specifications within the scope of the International Mobile Telecommunications-2000project of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The scope was later enlargedto include the development and maintenance of:3GPP36.141TS specifies the Radio Frequency (RF) test methods and conformancerequirements for E-UTRA Base Stations (BS), but it did not give out high-efficient testenvironments, and also the middle parts of test system is key point.The purpose of this article foucs on the standard measurement construction based on3GPP36.141specifications, the key point middle part to realize an auto-measrueenvironment, the signal connection part between basestation and measurement instruments.Firstly, the article gives a deep analysis for each test case one by one, foucse on eachdiffenent requirement for each different test case between base station and measurementinstruments, develop each different measurement route, give out specification and vendorinformation for all components required, in order to decrease the BOM cost and increasethe system integration level, many expensive components shared and integrated with somemeasurement routes, so that, the hardware cost was dropped down in big scale and increaseusage value.According the specification，the article will explain the development of automatic RFswitch matrix box to meet the testing requirement of3GPP36.141.Personality characteristics of this kind of RF Switch Matrix:1) Small volume, can be inserted into standard19-inch Rack.2) Strong function, Cover all test cases listed in3GPP36.141.3) Relative low price, mostly share RF components.4) High Automation, all routes switch can be done with GPIB commands. 5) Capable embedded into auto-testing system based remote function.
