LD pumped Cr4+:YAG passively Q-switch solid state laser, in addition tocompact structure, high energy conversion efficiency, solid-state, stable performance, etc, the output of high repetition frequency, narrow pulse width and peak power ofpulse laser could be used in the remote measuring, remote sensing detection, healthcare and space communication, it has been more and more important in military andcivilian fields and will have wide application prospect. In this paper, based on the theory of Nd3+:YAG laser Cr4+:YAG passivelyQ-switch rate equation and the method of numerical simulation in MATLAB R2011bsoftware environment, the output characteristic of continuous and pulse LD pumpedthe Nd3+:YAG laser has be simulated and analyzed respectively. In continuouspumping, the influence of the pump rate, the initial transmittance of Cr4+:YAG and thereflectivity of the output mirror on the repetition frequency, the peak power and thepulse width of the output pulse laser has be simulated and analyzed, and the result isconsistent with the theoretical analysis. The key analysis on pulse pumping has bemade, such as the impact of the pump rate and the pump pulse width on the establishtime, the peak power, the pulse width, and interval time of the pulse, etc. The resultsshowed that pulse pumping can be a method to control the output of the single pulseactively at certain conditions, thereby it could improve the characteristics and stabilityof the output pulse; With the change of the factors of condition, it will producemultiple pulse after the main pulse, and the influences of different conditions on themultiple pulse output characteristics are very great. These result could have certainsignificant reference for optimizing the design of passively Q-switch laser.
