The paper firstly introduces general situation of TCON system and developmentstatus at home and abroad and presents development status of FPGA technology basedon which TCON system is developed. Because TCON system is in the upstream ofLCD system and the research to the TCON system is not thorough at home,development of LCD industry is fundamentally constrained. Urgency and necessity ofTCON system research is reflected from the market development and technicalbackground. Following the paper introduces display and driver circuit principle,which illustrate the importance of TCON system in display system.The paper focuses on the design of input and output interface and presents designprinciple and implement of main function module inside TCON system, for exampleOverDrive technology and dithering image processing algorithm. Subsequently thepaper introduces design method and development procedure of FPGA and feature ofxc5vlx330which is used in the paper. According to feature of the hardware platform,FPGA project structure of TCON system in this paper is designed which isdownloaded successfully into the FPGA. Afterward right image is successfullyshowed on the LCD under software. The outcome of research in this paper becomesbasis of continual TCON system which also offers significant reference of TCON chipdesign.
