LED(Light Emitting Diode)display is restricted by its luminescent characteristics.Under the condition of low gray level display,there are some problems such as gray scale jump and uneven gray scale transition of display image,which seriously affect the display effect,and it has become one of the technical difficulties that the industry needs to solve.In view of above problems,the influencing factors of the scan-driven mode of LED display on the low-gray display effect have been studied.Based on the lightemitting and scan-driven characteristics of LED display,an innovative concept of"decimal gray level" based on the FRC(Frame Rate Control)pixel dithering algorithm is presented,and a human eye pixel color-mixing horizon model is established.The decimal gray level calculation of low gray level display image is implemented,and the gray compensation operation ability of low gray level display image is improved.At the same time,based on the concept of "decimal gray level",a gray level enhancement algorithm for LED display is proposed.First,the low-gray pixel level dithering algorithm is studied.With the red,green and blue pixels as the basic unit,a mapping model for displaying the gray level and the brightness of the display is established,and the dithering operation matrix of the pixels at the pixel level is calculated by dithering the displaying pixels at different gray levels.The gray scale visual expansion under low gray level conditions is achieved,and the visual viewing effect is improved.Secondly,in order to control the degree of brightness change during dithering more precisely,a dithering algorithm at the low gray level is proposed.On the basis of the dithering algorithm at the pixel level,a dithering matrix is established for the red,green,blue,single and three primary colors in the display pixel,and the parameters of the dithering matrix are set according to the display characteristics of the red,green and blue primary colors,so as to realize the separate operation of the three primary colors and improve the control ability of brightness change.So as to realize the separate operation of the three primary colors,improve the control ability of brightness change,reduce the brightness fluctuations between pixels due to gray processing,and weaken the flickering sensation of the display to the human eye.Through theoretical derivation and simulation,it is verified that the two LED display grayscale enhancement algorithms can improve the accuracy of low grayscale operations without increasing hardware resources,solve the problems of grayscale jumps,uneven grayscale transitions,etc.The low grayscale display effect is obtained,and the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by experiments.
