Frequency planning and optimization is an important part of network optimization. Frequency allocation, allocation of the channel (CAP), is a typical combinatorial optimization problem, it needs to allocate the limited available channel resources to the vast number of mobile voice or data users, in the process to ensure that the system of electromagnetic interference as small as possible. The main work of this study is the application of genetic algorithms in the frequency distribution of the GSM network to be addressed.Firstly, the paper studies the theory of the base of the frequency resource and the distribution of frequency resource in the GSM system, the key technologies of GSM system, interfere of the GSM system network; the meaning, content and principles of the GSM frequency optimization and planning, and it also introduces the general frequency planning technology; the prediction and design of the network using automatic fast frequency allocation algorithmSecondly, to achieve better results and reduce interference with adjacent channel in the frequency allocation, we research the frequency allocation algorithm, using the comparison and the analysis among the pros and cons of the status of the related algorithm; we find a genetic algorithm to solve the problem. In order to solve the channel allocation problem, this article first design a basic mathematical model, use the compatible matrix in the model interfering constraints between the district, and then focus on how to use the more advanced genetic algorithm to solve the CAP problem. Finally, the compare between the graph coloring method and genetic algorithm got the advantages of this algorithm, summed up the practical application of genetic algorithms, the methods and means to play to the advantage of genetic algorithm.
