A shortwave monitor network covering most of our national regional has been constructed presently. For the reasons such as unbalanced economic development and specific geographical environment in Qinghai and so on, it is, however, not easy to face an enormous challenge when we want to implement interference source suppression compare with theoretical research. It seems that enhancing the ability of shortwave monitor in Qinghai Province and improving the efficiency of interference source suppression will be an urgent mission.In this paper, firstly the current situation of shortwave monitor networks in our country is analyzed. Then, the necessity of building the shortwave monitor networks is indicated and deep researches for shortwave monitor stations are done in Qinghai Province. The two main works in this paper are shown as follows:1. The problem of site selection of short wave monitor in Qinghai is studied specifically. Following basic requirements which are proposed by ITU for building short wave monitor stations and considering the practical conditions in Qinghai, the area for building the stations is analyzed and the projects are presented, which are combined with the techniques of GIS and hierarchy analysis.2. Correlated works of building short wave monitor stations in Qinghai are studied. Basic requirements of equipments for short wave monitor based on the ITU’s referenced model are listed, and a model selection guide for key equipments is presented. Then, a practical project for hardware configuration is given and the constructive methods for building data bases are studied.
