With the explosive growth of information, new demand of storage products about its storage capacity, storage speed, storage flexibility and storage integrity is needed. Without mechanical structure of traditional disk, SSD (solid state disk) has the advantages of higher reading and writing speed, shock resistance, wide operating range, energy saving, etc. SSD will become the main trend in the future. Thus it is important to design high-performance SSD based on the SATA interface.Based on the analysis of the technology about SATA, ATA and NAND Flash, a scheme of multi-channel parallel interface SATA3.0SSD storage system is proposed with the FPGA chip XC5VFX130T. NAND Flash is the main memory medium in the system. In order to make full use of high-bandwidth SATA interface, DBUF (Data Buffer) is added in the system as the main cache. NAND Flash is designed with multi-channel parallel method, so the bandwidth of the system is broadened from a macro point of view. In order to enhance the transmission speed of data between host and device, the system combines the advantages of the SATA, DBUF and NAND, which can improve the performance of SSD storage system. Based on the parallel architecture of hardware, time hiding strategy、data prefetching, data compensation strategy are taken. This method makes the speed of SSD increased by38.8%.SATA logic analyzer is used to test SATA module, NAND Flash module, the system of function and performance. The result shows that the multi-channel parallel SSD storage system works properly and the speed of SATA3.0interface is600MB/s which meet the requirement of SATA3.0protocol.
