Network coding has became a hotspot in research of network communication in recent years. It allows the network node processing data packet on the basis of the traditional forwarding data packet, so it has significant advantages on improving the network throughput and data transmission reliability, which causes the attention of many network researchers both at home and abroad. At present, the study of the communication protocol based on network coding is mainly adopt the method of modeling and simulation, but the existing simulative software is complicated, so it is difficult for beginners to grasp and is bad for studying the network coding communication protocol, more important is that the simulative environment is different form real environment, to a certain extent the obtained parameters can not truly reflect the actual network. The above defects lead to us use the simulative software inconvenient and untruthfulness. The purpose of the paper is to design and realize a network coding oriented wireless network test bed, which is convenient for studying communication protocol based on network coding, the main work is as follows:In view of the present research of network coding, we especially study inter-flow network coding and intra-flow network coding mechanism, including the coding method research, the combination of network coding and opportunity routing research and the research of feedback mechanism based on network coding and so on.We study the Click software routing architecture, by using the object-oriented modular design mode, design and realize the combination of network coding in wireless NC-Wirelessnode routing node, the node can not only support design and test of general wireless router, but also support the design and test of wireless communication strategy based on network coding. The nodes on the design can not only support the implementation of forward routing strategy based on network coding, but also support inter-flow network coding and intra-flow network coding mechanism implementation, provide a good extensional developed interface, it is easy for users to implement new protocol, and it provides a convenient test interface, so it is convenient for users to analyze the throughput, delay, packet loss rate and other network performance parameter.We have set up a network coding oriented wireless network test bed——NC-Mesh@CSU by using multiple NC-wirelessnode. In order to further verify the convenience and practicability of the test bed, we completed the typical wireless communication protocol based on network coding. By extending developed module, we realize the intra-flow network coding protocol like MORE and CCACK and inter-flow network coding protocol like COPE and CORE. By calling the test interface, we analyze the throughput, delay and other parameters of implemented intra-flow network coding and inter-flow network coding protocol, and the whole experiment reflect the convenience and practicability of the NC-Mesh@CSU platform.
