The Design And Implementation Of A Cognitive Behavior Training System Of Pigeons Vision

In recent years, research in cognitive function based on visual learning has become one of the key issues and important research areas of brain research, the study that reveals the mechanism for the brain has an important theoretical significance, and it has an important practical value in biology, medicine and military field. Currently, many more experiments on visual and behavioral training abroad train rats or primates as experimental subjects, rarely pigeons, compared to other animals, pigeons because of fast response, strong learning and memory ability are more suitable subjects as visual cognitive behavioral training.This paper designs a kind of visual cognitive behavior training system which uses pigeons as subjects, through different visual clues induces pigeons turn left, turn right and go straight, stop, such as specific movement, finally based on visual cues to complete a specific path navigation movement. It uses the STC89C52microcontroller (control circuit), infrared sensor, electromagnet, LED lamp setting up the training system hardware circuit, compiles a system software which has a good human-computer interaction interface, flexible experimental model and parameter settings, training behavior data automatic analysis, extensible function. A lot of training results show that the system helps the pigeon quickly set up the operation between different color clues and specific movement behavior type conditioned reflex, can realize the pigeons in accordance with the color of visual clues to suggest specific path to the movement of the task. This system will provide an effective technical means on the pigeon visual cognitive learning, memory space motion of neurophysiology, and cognitive behavioral research.The main work done specifically as follows:1, the design can meet the needs of pigeons visual cognitive behavioral research training system, pigeons through visual judge different colors to complete the corresponding action.2, according to the requirement of the pigeon training, analysis the pigeons visual learning training system design of the software requirements and hardware requirements, and complete the design of the overall solution.3, system structure and function of each unit, set up a training system constituted by the maze, colour prompt device, behavior control system, behavior feedback system, rewards and punishments, etc.4, PC software makes the experiment plans, sets us database, evaluate the pigeons behavior; the program of singlechip processor control system peripherals.5,conducted a lot of training experiment, using the system, and according to the training effect of the debugging system is optimized, finally achieved the pigeons in accordance with the color of visual clues to suggest specific path to the movement of the task.
