Cloud computing organizes the geographically dispersed computing resourcesinto a virtual supercomputer by using the Internet. It is to achieve unified managementand scheduling of system resources, and constructs them into a computing resourcespool to provide on-demand service. In the study of cloud computing, virtualizationtechnology is a hot issue in its research. It should be supported on a variety ofvirtualization technology for a unified cloud management platform which is based onvirtualization technology. This paper is mainly to solve the support of the unifiedcloud management platform to KVM virtualization technology. This article studied the existing system architecture of cloud managementplatform and relative KVM virtualization technology details according to the supportfor KVM virtualization technology. On the basis of elaborating cloud computing andrelative concept of virtualization technology, the thesis analyzed the achievement ofspecific functions of different modules in cloud management platform. In themeanwhile, it took advantage of the data flow diagram to modeling the data andprocess of the system. It also shows the Agent application architecture of Cloudmanagement platform, designed the data format of communication between two sides, the module of Agent Client and EventListener. And the article accomplished thecoding work by using multi-threading technology, event processing technology andsocket programming knowledge and achieved the development of Agent packagewhich support KVM virtualization technology.By installing the Agent package to build a cloud management platform testenvironment. After comparing the test results it can be concluded that the system isable to support the KVM virtualization technology, and reach the intended goals.
