Application Of Virtualization Technology In Cloud Computing In The Field Of Telecommunication

Today, information technology is developmenting rapidly. Traditional telecom operators faceenormous challenges such as growing investment on equipments, growing numbers of servers,shrinking space in the machine room, increasing electricity costs in the machine room, and IToperations management and device management become more difficult. Cloud computeringvirtualization technology which is an extremely popular research direction in thetelecommunications industry is applied in the field of telecommunications now. It not onlyimproves the system stability and availability dramatically and enhances the flexible deploymentof resources, but also reduces the investment and saves energy in the basic operationmaintenance.Firstly，this thesis describes the resources useage in IT systems of the Telecom and analysesthe problems and needs in it. Secondly, the thesis presents the plan which is the application ofcloud computing virtualization technology in the operation and maintenance of the Telecom andcarefully researches the application of this technology in the minicomputer, X86servers,standardization of storage. Finally, by combining statistical analysis of resources useage in theJiangxi Telecom Management Support Systems and a deep research of cloud computingvirtualization technology, the cloud computing virtualization technology is applied in theoperations and maintenance of the Telecom. Four ways of virtualization resource integration areaccomplished, they are minicomputers resource pooling, x86-based system resource pooling,unified storage resource pooling and centralized backup management. After this project, thenetwork topology of Jiangxi Telecom Management Support System is clearer, deployment ofresources is more flexible, systems are more stable, and investment is greatly reduced. So, socialvalue is obvious.
