In the development of weapons, the mounting software of the controlling systemis written in VxWorks system, which is against the semi-digitized and whole-digitizedsimulation of the army. Moreover, because of the limitations of the mounting softwarein aspects of system, hardware and so on, the controlling system code needs to berewritten every time a new weapon is developed. So there are many duplications ofinvestment in the development of weapons. Therefore, if the mounting software canrun on Windows system platform, the digitized simulation will be executed fully. Thisis exactly the research topic of this paper----The Virtual Operating Environment ofMounting Software.Firstly, the paper introduced different solutions for this project. Through analyzingthe advantages and disadvantages of these solutions, the Windows platform solutionbased on RTX was chosen. Then, the paper made a detailed introduction of VxWorkssystem and the real-time solution of Windows system—RTX. After that, the paperexhausted that during the development of the project, through the realization ofdifferent modules like Task Management, Message Queue, Device Management,Image Display, etc, the real-time demand indicators were achieved when the systemservice was completed. Therefore, the mounting software code could run on theplatform after only a few modifications.Through the realization of VxWorks system service in the virtual operationenvironment, the unhindered running of the mounting software code on the platformcould be implemented. Reasonable test cases were designed and the online debuggingand simulation system integrating were carried on. Finally the running of virtualoperation environment was verified successfully and the original goal was achieved.
