A mobile Ad hoc network is a special wireless mobile network, in which all thenodes have the same status. In a MANET each node not only has the necessarycapabilities of a mobile terminal, but also can act as a router. MANET features no centerand self-organization, so it can build military and civil application platform quickly,which is of great significance to the development of future wireless communicationnetwork. Because of the scenarios, the network environment, and business of differ inthousands ways, to obtain high efficiency of network performance, it need to researchand design a strategic networking technology suited to the characteristics of the Ad Hocnetwork.For nodes terminal developed by LABS do not have the network status ofcognitive function, so it needs to rely on external auxiliary equipment to perceive thestate of the network, and the auxiliary equipment through GPRS module tocommunicate with nodes in Ad Hoc network, then the node with external GPRS modulein the network notices all the other nodes in the network about the environment of theentire network. Because of Ad Hoc network has the characteristic of topology changequickly, so it will lead to different types of scenarios appear in the network operation.In order to guarantee the high efficiency of network communication, different types ofscenarios require the protocols are also different. Through the external auxiliaryequipment perception of network state, inform the network uses the related protocols toensure the efficiency of the entire network. The MAC protocol based on CSMA/CAprinciple is simple and it is easy to implement in technical, but in the large scalenetwork, the collision probability between nodes will increase sharply; While the MACprotocol based on TDMA is relatively complex, implementation is difficult, but it canavoid the collision problem brought by the business of the network scale. In this paper,the main research work includes switching protocols related to network layer and MAClayer. First, this paper briefly introduces the structure, characteristics and applications ofMANET; then, the paper introduces and analyzes the Ad Hoc network layer, MAC layerprotocols and the characteristics of them; Finally it introduces the switching principle ofAd Hoc network routing protocol and MAC protocol and the realization of them.
