With the popularity of3G technology, the smart phone has become one of theimportant means to today’s society people everyday interactions. As one of the bestloved by users, android mobile phones have superior operating system and the endlessstream of applications. The mobile application market is in an unprecedented period,in which the map navigation class of applications in has also been a lot of attention inrecent years. By GPS technology and the use of mobile communication networks, Itprovides a map search, route navigation and precise positioning, which facilitatesdaily life for the majority of users.In the high-speed of modern Beijing city, the subway became essential totransport everyone to go out, so it is necessary to develop a subway navigationsoftware in order to help people travel. Subway navigation application service isdeveloped on the Android platform using the Eclipse software platform, whichcombined with the Android SDK and ADT plug-in during application developmentand testing, and use the current popular Google Maps technology to map function.During the development process,it involved in the system UI interface design,database design, information layers of the subway route and Google Mapsdevelopment of technology. It implements the subway site inquiries, route choice,recent site inquiries and route navigation functions.From the user needs, the article analyzes the feasibility of the software, thefunctional requirements, security and ease of use by combining the use case diagram,activity diagram UML modeling method. The article described in detail the systemuser interface, the site query module, navigation module, database design andimplementation process, and explain the key technologies. Such as SQLite database,information layers developed technology, GPS positioning technology for mobilephone and subway line drawing method.Through system testing and user experience testing, the Beijing Subwaynavigation applications basically reached the requirements of the design. The softwareis simple, intuitive interface, and full-featured with a high market value and broadprospects for development.
