Campus Mobile News Website Design And Development Based On Web Page Acquisition

Along with the development of Internet technology and computer technology,especially the application and popularization of the third generation mobilecommunication technology, people’s reading habits have also changed. People areeager to browse the web for information at any time and places over a wirelessnetwork by mobile device. In the campus, with a large number of people with mobiledevices, the need for such wireless Internet access is more urgent. In the meantime,mobile devices are different from PC in many characteristics which makes itimpossible for the HTML web page to run well on it. From another point of view, Itbrought opportunities to the mobile website development.Based on the issues above, this thesis will analyze current campus website mobilestatus firstly, and propose solutions on the mobility of campus’ news gatheringwebsite. There are two question to be discussed and to be solved: one is how toextract information from existing school news website and store in the database, andthe other is how to show the information in the user’s mobile device easily andeffectively.This system adopts the rule-based method to realize the collection, which means itaccesses web pages via HTTP protocol information, and filters its useful informationof the page to the server and store them in the database by then uses the DOM treesystem and set rules. In addition, we made a data processing module for processingdata captured. This module unifies access control and passes information tocustomers’ native client applications or mobile browser through JSON and web pageswhich can use different page templates according to different clients. Both of thesetwo forms above can satisfy different requirements of various customers on thesystem. By now this system has been used as a part of the mobile campus inGUANGDONG UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION.The main features of this system are: first, it gets the old website data by gathering,which is different from other traditional mobile systems directly improving the old system, and offers the possibility of more rapid combination of the new and the oldsystem; Second, our system provides web app page and native application systeminterface, offers more support for all kinds of devices, and meets some customers’demand for performance in the maximum extent; third, with the form of themiddleware, the system can be deployed separately from the old system, making theserver deployment more flexible.
