Wireless Mesh network is a kind of broadband wireless network which has advantageof Multi-hop Distributed, it has the advantages of self organizing, self management, selfrepair, and it is easy to deploy and maintain in disaster relief, traffic management, powergrid monitoring occasions and complex terrain environment with author advantage of lowcost. With the development of network technology and the rapid increase of Internet users,more and more wireless Mesh network will be applied to other occasions. While thewireless Mesh network technology more and more applied in the practice, there are stillmany problems need to be studied in the process of wireless Mesh network technologydevelopment, such as a kind of routing algorithm suitable for complex application scenariosof wireless Mesh network routing technology, etc.This paper studies and analyzes the classic Wireless Mesh Network Routing protocols,and introduces the basic principle of OLSR Routing protocol, and then we points out aseries of research directions and results based on OLSR Routing protocol in recent years.On the basis of OLSR Routing protocol, combined with the research background andapplication requirements, we propose Cross-Layer Routing protocol EAI-OLSR algorithm,which is sensitive to energy. This algorithm changes the original routing metric which onlyrelies on the hops and Link quality to compute Routing method. Considering the case thatnodes supplied by renewable Energy power are influenced by remaining Energy on Routing,we propose a new synthetic routing metric called ETC which includes the Link quality,residual Energy extracted from cross layer and directional radio measurement of sendingrate extracted from cross layer. At last, in order to adapt to the energy consumption ofrenewable energy which has characteristics of uncertainty, we propose an energy controlmechanism which can control a node active or sleep intelligently according to the node’sresidual energy.After elaborating the design of the EAI-OLSR routing algorithm principle in detail,we mainly describe the cross-layer routing algorithm of EAI-OLSR concrete programingprocess on Linux OS. The implementation of the whole system is divided into seven mainmodules, we describes every module’s implementation process in detail, at last, through the experiment in the real system, the feasibility and correctness of EAI-OLSR is verified, theremaining energy realizes to control node preset according to residual energy changesactivated or dormancy, which can effectively ensure the normal work of the network incomplex application environment.
