Wireless ad hoc network is a kind of peer-to-peer, multi-hop and self-organizedwireless mobile network. Ad hoc networks are widely used, especially in emergentoccasion in which unexpected accidents have occured.At present, the wireless meshnetwork based on Wi-Fi ad hoc technology is considered to be one of the focus offuture business, will become the new growth point of communication service.Routingprotocol is the core of wireless ad hoc networks; it directly affects the performance ofad hoc network.In this paper, we first introduce the technical characteristics and the keytechnology of Wi-Fi ad hoc networks, discuss the application and classification of adhoc network routing protocol, then we stressly analyze the working principle of aclassical ad hoc routing protocol--OLSR routing protocol. OLSR routingprotocol,relative to the other Table-driven Routing Protocol,using the MultipointRelay,makes the control information to effectively control, send not cut in flood.The next,to verify the performance of OLSR, we construct a Wi-Fi ad hocnetwork environment and carry out a series of simulation experiment; according to thesimulation results, we analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the OLSRprotocol.By OPNET simulation software, mainly compared the AODV routingprotocol with OLSR routing protocol in packet delivery ratio,end-to-end delay,routingoverhead. The simulation result shows:the nodes has the advantages of high packetdelivery rate, small time delay. But in the nodes moving speed is fast, the sharpdecline inperformance of OLSR routing protocol, packet dropout is frequent and thetime-delay elongate. Compared with the AODV protocol, OLSR protocol has thedisadvantages of large routing overhead.Last,by analysis, the traditional OLSR routing protocol cause the problem of routing fluctuations, and the deficiency of guaranteed quality of service and other issues.This article views the above problems, put forward improvement ideas to design newwireless self-organizing network routing protocol MOLSR, which is the better performance of the new routing protocol changes slowly in the network topology, and let the transmission quality of multimedia services get the better guarantee. MOLSR routing protocol offers the stability of link measurement method, the remaining bandwidth estimation method, some new arithmetic as the diffusion and the routing process of the stability parameter and bandwidth parameters. Furthermore, it is verified though the simulation experiment. The simulation experiment set100moving nodes indifferent velocity,test the OLSR and MOLSR in packet delivery ratio,end-to-end delayand routing overhead,verify that the MOLSR routing protocol in wirelessself-organizing network has better adaptability and application prospect.
