Study of this subject is fordamage detection of large aircraft fuselage,wings,wind turbine bladesand other composite structure. A small rapid scanning infrared thermal detection device whichintegrates excitation with detection is studied to solve problems in practice of detection of compositecomponents. Infrared thermal detection terminal of this article is one of the important part of theabove device.According to the research of Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology(ITIT)’s compositionstructure, the detection terminal occupies an essential position which main functions are dataprocessing and image display function, and the capability of data processing may affect the wholesystem’s performance level. Furthermore, the detective terminal’s particular functions ensure that ITIScould be able to meet different needs of different applications, such as, temperature indicators, imageprocessing algorithms, and interactive interface. In this paper, the detection terminal will be the mainresearch objective.Based on the contrast of different development platforms, this research will choose ARM+DSPdual-core architecture TMS320DM6446from Davinci technology as the master controller and hostprocessor of the detection terminal. Firstly, the research depth studied the dual-core hardwarearchitecture and software development method, and implemented the hardware systems’build and thesoftware development environment’ configuration. Secondly, the paper analyzed the types of infraredimage’s noise, and conducted the simulation comparison of the algorithm for edge detection usedunder the main types of noise, and selected the better detection algorithm and achieved it onTMS320DM6446platform. What is more, in order to enlarge the range of the detection terminal’sapplication, the paper also achieved the function of digital video’s acquisition, display and saving,based on the USB interface, and processed the H.264algorithm’s porting and optimization onTMS320DM6446platform. Finally, this paper summaries the result and limitation of this study, andalso provides some logical exploring and further recommendation on this subject.All missions that mentioned in this paper can be preferable achieved due to the repeatingexperimental testing and design modifications, and this paper will offer a reasonable reference valueand practical meaning in the design field of portable infrared thermal imaging detection terminal.
