Nowadays, counter gravity is mostly used in aircraft and automobile industry andnational defense field. Due to it can meet the stringent demands of complex shapes,thin wall and high compactness, as well as, it can improve the manufacturingefficiency of the casting. So counter gravity casting technique, especially vacuumcounter pressure casting occupies an important position in the field of thin wall casting.Along with the development of microcomputer technology, embedded technology isextensively used in industrial control field and before the mainstream field of researchis based on ARM embedded system. So this topic is to research on the vacuum counterpressure casting control system and design a vacuum counter pressure casting controlsystem of low power consumption, high reliability and good human-machine interfacebased on ARM embedded system technology.This topic combine ARM embedded technique and vacuum counter pressurecasting technique together. Peripheral hardware design based on ARM embedded andsoftware design based on embedded Linux system platform are mainly introduced inthis paper.The processor of vacuum counter pressure casting control system is produced bySamsung S3C2440. Peripheral memory SDRAM and NAND FLASH have beenextended. It also has peripheral circuit, such as network communication interface,serial communication, touch interfaces and USB communication interface and so on.The pressure acquisition circuit and driving circuit of digital combination valve aredesigned according to the control function of the casting. The software of vacuumcounter pressure casting control system is based on embedded system platform thathave the Linux as core to study device drive and application software. It hasaccomplished a lot of work, including U-boot loader program and the transplantationof Linux system, the construction of the root file system, the transplantation ofMiniGUI graphic user interface, the development of device driver, casting mastercontrol program design and so on.The designed vacuum counter pressure casting control system control switchvalve reasonably and provide good human-machine interface through gathering thepressure data from the tank container. The experiment shows the reliable operation ofthe vacuum counter pressure casting control system’s hardware and scalability and portability of software. In the aspect of software design, it can not only modify thecasting process parameters but also real-time display tank pressure value. This vacuumcounter pressure casting control system can achieve the anticipated goal and it canprovide reference for embedded industry control project.
