Software defined radio architecture is the architecture which realized the conceptof SDR, is the core and the key of SDR technology and determine the functionrealization of SDR. Software communication architecture is an implementation ofsoftware defined radio architecture and its definition is independent of concrete radioapplications. It has pervasively applied both in military and civil domain because of itsstrong openness, generality and flexibility. Software communication architecture basedsoftware defined radio technology already have been main development trend anddirection of modern communication system.SDR-4000system is dedicated for SDR and is widely used in many applications. The hardware of this system is designed according to a flexible, genearal and scalablearchitecture, provides users with wide RF/IF bands and a general hardware platform. Moreover, a software operating environment is provided together with the platform, which makes it more significative for the developing, testing and verifying of thewaveform and SCA system. This thesis studied the SCA, an architecture is designed and implemented on theSDR-4000which support the dynamic choosing of transfer mechanism of themiddleware and the configureing of the CF interface. The architecture improved theproblem of. middleware delay and the resource consumed of CF, and supports a strongpower to the application of the SCA in the lightweight radio terminal. The mainresearch work is as follows:The principle of CORBA and its application in SCA is studied, and experimentresults show that the deficiency of CORBA roots in its usage of TCP/IP protocol. A newtransfer mechanism based on shared memory is designed and embedded in CORBA toenhance its efficiency in a single processor; and its flexibility is also promoted byautomatically choosing different transfer mechanism. The performance of this newsolution is tested and compared with the original one by the use of time delay and delaydithering to evaluate the transfer mechanism performance. The notion of configurable Core Framework is adopted in the designing of SCA.The components of CF are refined to be of smaller granularity and looser coupling, based on which the user can conveniently chose appropriate components set accordingto the system resource which leads to better matches between SCA resource consumedwith that provided by the system. At last, the configurable SCA based on the extended CORBA middleware isimplemented on the SDR platform SDR-4000to prove the feasibility of the solution.
