With the software development technology evolving, the scale and complexity ofsoftware systems have been increasing along with the great attention on the softwareengineering and software quality requirements increasing. To assuring the deliveredsoftware products meeting customer needs and reliable, the software companies mustdo the systematic and comprehensive testing. If they introduce the automated testing,they will effectively reduce the cost of software testing and improve testing efficiency.Therefore, software testing automation has been widespread concern in the field ofdomestic software engineering. In recent years, it has become increasingly mature anda broad role in many tests, such as performance test, stress test, regression test. Basingmy company business and product development, there is an urgent need to developautomated regression test tool for server software systems. This topic goes throughanalysis of automated testing theoretical studies and the company’s existing unit testprograms. Then we proposed the following solution: build a set of suitable automatedtools based PyUnit with making use of the existing unit test programs. This tool canachieve multiple programs in parallel or individually one by one, with recording acomplete execution log. This paper describes the implementation of automated testingtechnology, PyUnit frame structure, and the overall framework of the tool, the moduledesign and key technology, and tool for future improvements envisioned. The tool is asuccessful attempt that based on PyUnit testing framework. It will play an importantrole to ensure the quality of the software and test cost savings.
