With the rapid development of radio business and global economic integration inrecent years, radio now is a kind of very important information carrier and thenational resources. The reasonable use of radio plays an important role in theeconomic development, social stability and the construction of national defense.In order to ensure the reasonable application of the inadequate radio spectrumresources, the national radio management departments not only need to reasonablyallocate the spectrum resources,but also need to adopt technology measures tomonitor and locate the illegal use of radio signal source, promptly eliminate illegalsignal source and purify the spectrum. We have to seriously consider that how tomake use of the existing direction-finding equipment on the market, combining withthe need of city radio management,to choose the appropriate direction findingequipment and the selection of outside monitoring station site, as far as possible avoidexternal environment’s influence on the radio monitoring and direction finding andobtain better results.This paper introduces the common several kinds of system of direction-findingand direction-finding errors, briefly analyzes the characteristics of eachdirection-finding system and direction-finding error causes, and puts forwardsolutions to minimize direction-finding errors. Then combining with the need ofTianjin radio management work, this paper mainly introduces dual channel correlationinterferometer and arrival time difference direction-finding system that we chose.Based on the experimental data, the errors of TDOA direction-finding system workingin our city are mainly mastered. The last part of this paper scientifically analyses thechoice of monitoring station site combining the condition of our city. The aim is thatthe monitoring efficiency can produces the best possible results under the limitedcondition. This provides the hardware protection for us to further do the radiomanagement work.
