Hematology analyzer is a kind of medical instruments that can analyze the components of bloodaccurately and measure numbers of blood cells. Therefore, it is able to provide reliable basis for themedical diagnosis. Usually, a hematology analyzer consists of control system, blood cells recognitionsystem, fluid drive system, power system and mechanical system.With the increasing popularity of blood analyzer in the medical system, to better respond to marketchanges and customer needs, manufacturers of hematology analyzer instruments need to continuously bringin new technologies to upgrade products. Usually, this upgrade, referred to firmware upgrade, updates andreplaces the internal core device programs of instruments in the premise of not changing the instrument,and finally for the purpose of improving the overall performance of instrument.The focus of this design is to accomplish both the application software design for hematology analyzerand firmware upgrades of the internal core devices such as ARM microprocessor, FPGA device and MCUdevice. In this thesis, the following works are done based on the BK-500five-differential hematologyanalyzer:1. Accomplish the development of the application software for hematology analyzer. According tothe actual application requirements, the overall framework of hematology analyzer applicationsoftware includes seven main modules,they are initialization module, counting module, calibrationmodule, maintenance module, setting module, data browsing module and control module. This thesismainly focuses on the implementation of data browsing module and control module. Meanwhile, for theproblems of interface scintillation, sample data reading slowly, this thesis proposes a solution like doublebuffer, multithreading and so on. Finally, the thesis develops EDB database management system.2. Completes the design of USB stylus printer driver. According to the characteristics of BSP, thisthesis transplants and customizes the WinCE operating system, and finally accomplishes the the design ofdriver for USB stylus printer Epson LQ-630K.3. Comes up with a firmware remote upgrading program. From the actual demand of the upgradingof hematology analyzer, this thesis propose a program which uses the socket technology to accomplish thefirmware of ARM microprocessor S3C2440, FPGA device EP2C5T144C8and MCU device C8051F020remote upgrade.Finally, the application software for hematology analyzer, the driver of USB stylus printer and thewhole firmware upgrade system are tested. The test results prove that the work that have been done withperfect functions, reliable operation, friendly man-machine interaction, fully able to meet the applicationrequirements of hematology analyzer.
