With the rapid development of Internet, more and more websites appear on the Internet,netizen’s dependence on search engine becomes stronger, in order to make website get goodranking and attract more visitors,many enterprises choose SEO (Search EngineOptimization),so this research about effective SEO methods has practical significance.Andbecause Google occupy a higher share in global search engine market,so this article is mainlybased on the Google search engine.To verify whether the SEO method scholars has proposed is effective, this paper usesliterature research and empirical research, summarizes and generalizes the previous literature,then get the empirical research model of SEO methods and results based on Google.Wecollect117sites from Google,then collect the117sites’ relative data from authoritativethird-party sites, mainly do research about six SEO methods’(including the number and lengthof keywords, structure, links, SERP pages, text ratio, keyword density) influence on SEOperformance data(including visitors, attractive, Google indexed pages, Alexa rank, bouncerate) to determine which SEO method is effective, using SPSS20.0tool to make correlationanalysis, multiple regression analysis on the collected data, and the final results are asfollows:About Six SEO methods based on Google search engine:(1) The effect of links (including inbound links and outbound links) is very clear,it havea significant positive impact on the number of visitors and Google indexed pages;(2) Structure (including page size and page response time) has a positive impact on thenumber of visitors;(3) SERP pages (including title length, meta description length) has a negative impact onthe bounce rate;(4) Keyword density,the number of keywords and keyword length,text ratio proposed in this paper did not significantly affect the SEO performance data.So when enterprises optimize their websites, they should focus on the optimization oflinks, structure and SERP page to get better effect.The innovation of this paper is the perspective innovation, previous studies are mostlythat scholars propose SEO methods they considered effective,but rarely verify theeffectiveness of these SEO methods empirically.This article starts from the six SEO methods’impact on SEO performance data, to find effective SEO methods from empirical point, so thisis the innovative of this article.
