2D laser displacement measurement is a non-contact measurement methodbased on line structured light, the main development trends of2D laserdisplacement sensor measurement is to design a system with features ofhigh-precis ion, high-speed, miniaturized, intelligent and dyna mic measurements.Real-time image acquis ition of laser projection, which are projected from themeasurement surface by laser beam, processing and display are the key factors toimprove the measurement effic iency. Therefore, research is crucia l for its imageprocessing and display technology, real-time acquisition. In this study, a new2D laser displacement sensor measurement system wasdesigned based on FPGA and ARM hardware, the measurement system contains ofan optical probe, hardware controllers, monitors and other components. The FPGAunit was designed to fulfill the acquis ition of CCD projected fringe image, andalso the function of data storage and preprocessing. ARM unit was used as acontrol controller, the image data was proceeded in this unit, and the results weredisplayed on a TFT screen. In this work, based on laser triangulation princ iple, a mathe matical modelwas establis hed to represent the relation between three-dimens ional profilecoordinates projected by laser and CCD camera pixel coordinates and the systemwas calibrated structural parameters and optimization, based on their theoreticalmodel to comp lete the overall design of the system, the program is comp leted inaccordance with the hardware circuit design and debug circuitry of each module, and system software design and to achieve the image acquisition, processing anddisplay functions. Two dimens ional surface profile are measured by using thedesigned system, three dimens ional profile images were reconstructed using threedimens ional simulation by MATLAB software, the error o f the measurementresults were also analyzed.
