In the field of security, video surveillance is becoming more and more popular for itshigh degree of visibility and reliability. Traditional video surveillance system usuallyimplements hard wired customization, so it often have the defects of high cost and inflexibly.With the development of mobile internet technology, new-style android-based videosurveillance technologies can avoid traditional way of hard wired customization thus reducingcosts on a large scale and at the same time and enhancing flexibility and reliability. Therefore,people are making more diversified requests for video surveillance.The main work of this paper is to design and implement an application of videosurveillance base on Android platform. This mainly functions it implemented include thefollowing three parts. Firstly, it is the implementation of a software client base on Androidplatform, so it has the ability of video recording, transmission, retrieval and playing. Thesecond part is a multi-levels user administration, which is based on BS frame. And the thirdpart is the ability of video anomaly detection and prompting. The sever-side of this videosurveillance system is implementation by the way of building a Java Web site. The underlyingframework of this site is implemented by using SSH architecture technology of Java EE,while the Web interface is implemented by the open source project namedjQuery EasyUI. Theclient-side installed in android phones integrates the camera and surveillance video side. Theandroid-based video surveillance system introduced in this paper has the followingcharacteristics. Firstly, it uses the way of non-real-time transport thus avoiding the need ofoccupying network resources continuously during the process of video transmission. Besides,it compresses the recorded videos before transmitting, so it cost less network flow duringvideo transmission and occupy less storage space. Secondly, the Web site built in theserver-side is developed by using Java EE technology, so it is convenient for multi users androles administration. As an additional benefit, this site has the characteristics of operatingconveniently and scalability. Last but not least, this system adopts Hadoop to store the videos.Allows users to access video resources on Hadoop in high concurrently.
