Since the advent of projection system is considered to be the best way to realizethe large screen display, the application of LED light source that makes it possible toprojection system miniaturization, but the traditional lighting system doesn’t apply toLED light source, so the design is concise and efficient LED lighting system is tostudy the micro projection an indispensable part in the system.In this paper, the compound eye lighting system based on LED light source, taperrods lighting system and free surface lighting system design and simulation. By usingthe theory of non-imaging compound eye and conical rod system design andimprovement, put forward the overall structure of compound eye and array cone rodstructure, and obtained the good simulation results. For free-form surface lightingdevices, we direct method is adopted to design, through Fresnel theorem and energytopology relation list of differential or partial differential equations, using numericalprogramming to solve the discrete point on the free surface coordinates, generationinto the Pro/E modeling software to generate free curved surface. In order to reducethe craft difficulty and manufacturing cost, this article will not continuous synthesisfor free-form surface free curved surface fitting, and carries on the simulationanalysis.Through the simulation results show that the overall compound eye lightingsystem of light energy utilization rate reached89.2%, intensity of illuminationuniformity on the surface of the target of92.1%, and compared with the traditionaldouble row type compound eye lower manufacturing cost, more simple assembly.Cone rod array devices have more advantages on the structure of the length andphotosynthetic efficiency, but on the intensity of illumination uniformity is better thansingle cone rod device, is only77.5%. Rotational symmetry for free-form surface onthe display chip device of light energy efficiency reached62.2%, intensity ofillumination uniformity is as high as94.7%, its surface after continuous performancecan meet the requirements. Non rotational symmetry for free-form surface on thesurface of the device in the target lighting light efficiency is71.7%, the intensity ofillumination uniformity is72.1%.
