Due to the difficulties and cost of acquiring measured data, the Scattering CentersExtraction and the real-time simulation of radar echo for automatic target recognition incomplicated environment are studied in this paper. The main key technique involve thechecking of target scattering centre model, the abstraction of one-dimensional ortwo-dimensional scattering centre and sea clutter simulation.Chapter1is the part of preface. The significance of echo real-time simulation isdiscussed firstly. Then the method of radar echo acquisition is introduced. To look backpresent situation and evolution trend of radar target echo simulation, then emphases areput on principle design of radar echo imitator. At the end of this chapter, the main worksand the structure of the paper are outlined. In chapter2, the concept of scattering centre is introduced firstly. The thought ofreal-time simulating target echo is given. In order to study the verification of scatteringcentre model, scattering centre robustness at differential frequencies are tested andverified by measured data in darkroom, and also the scattering centre model availabilityat differential azimuths by measured data at differential azimuths in darkroom. This isthe theoretical principle for subsequent working. One and two dimensional scattering centre abstraction is studied chapter3. Thepresent spectral methods which contain MUSIC algorithm, and ESPRIT algorithm etcare introduced firstly and its defects are pointed out. Two-dimensional scattering centreabstraction is studied. Basal principle and procedure of two-dimensional pencil ofmatrices method (MEMP) and its modified method are introduced. In Chapter4, GTD method of scattering centre parameter estimation is studiedbased on compressive sensing theory. That converts parameter estimation into sparsesignal restructure in compressive sensing theory and the restructure outcome is amended. The method avoids fixing the scattering centre order, and improves robustness andaccuracy of estimation. Then a new method of two-dimensional parameter estimation ofscattering centre is proposed, which is based on compressive sensing theorycontraposing fixing model order and location matching of the present methods. The newmethod confirms supported region of target at first, then parameter of GTD scatteringmodel centre in supported region is estimated by compressive sensing theory. Propertyof parameter estimation scattering centre is verbesserned without fixing model orderand location matching in advance compared with traditional method.Chapter5focus on target echo simulation based on model. Target echo simulationbased on scattering centre model is studied firstly. Then acquired target echo simulationby radar transmit using two-dimensional scattering centre model while radar is scanning. At last, sea clutter simulation in razing angle is studied. Radar echo including target echo and sea clutter in razing angle is obtained.Chapter6is closing remarks. The main innovation of the paper is summarized andfuture researched areas are pointed out.
