Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) plays an important role in civilization and militaryapplications. Under the traditional Nyquist sampling theory, high resolution andwide-swath SAR imaging puts severe load on A/D conversion, data transmission andstorage. Compressive Sensing has the potential to resolve problems associated with highresolution SAR, such as a great amount of data and high sampling rate. This thesis introduces the principle of SAR imaging and moving target detection, and analyzes the echo of moving target in detail, and discusses the effects of motionparameters on target imaging. A simulation is carried out. In the third chapter, we studya SAR imaging approach based on compressive sensing. After matched filter is used inslant-range which increases signal to noise ratio (SNR), compressive sensing is adoptedto acquire the image in the cross-range. The effectiveness of this method is proved inthe simulation results. In the fourth chapter, we discuss a moving target detectionmethod based on compressive sensing. Clutter mitigation is applied afterpulse-compression in slant-range, an approach based on compressive sensing is used torealize the moving target detection in cross-range. Simulation results demonstrate thatthe observing scene can be reconstructed accurately by this method so as the motionparameters are estimated.
