Design And Implementation Of BI-based Ordering Terminal

Catering industry has been the foremost traditional service industry in Chinesetertiary industry. But China’s catering industry is confronted with the problems of lowprofit and laggard growth in consumption nowadays, partly because of changes in theinternational and domestic economic environments as well as the defects of theenterprise itself. Although it can not change the economic environment, it can perfectthe operating management applying the right technique.In general, there are two problems about the traditional catering industry. One isthe ordering procedure, which continues using the artificial ordering way hundreds ofyears ago, relies on staff seriously and needs to pour into a lot of costs. The other one isthere is not enough emphasis on historical consumption data or no accumulation at all,ignoring the potential commercial values of the large data.Considering the two problems above, this paper proposes a solution calledCatering Industry Intelligent System on the basis of analysis of business intelligencebased on the data mining. The system consists of the intelligent ordering terminal, theweb backstage management system and intelligent analysis service, system architectureis reasonable physically, scalable, and easy to maintain. Before building the intelligentordering terminal, an in-depth study on Android system architecture was done, at thesame time, have a good learning about porting the Android system to OK6410development board and developing the Android application. After in-depth analysis ofbusiness intelligent, BI-based data mining framework which effectively integrateMethod-based data mining and Knowledge-based data mining was proposed inintelligence analysis service, and it can provide online service through Webservice.Through the study of relevant problems and techniques, the final coding archievesthe expected requirements. It can help customers to complete the traditional orderingprocedure by the intelligent terminal, make the restaurant staff manage the wholerestaurant by the web page, assist decision-makers to make right decisions by usingbusiness intelligent analysis service and feedback to customer by intelligent terminal.
