During the social transition period, a large number of public environmentalcriseshave happened in recent years. At the same time, the research on publicenvironmental crisis communication has gradually become a key topic in Journalismand Communication. The substance of public environmental crisis communication isinformation spreading. When a public environmental crisis happened suddenly, thepublic, media, government, NGO andenvironmentalistswill become the maincommunication subjects. And with the development of microblog, it has graduallybecome the new spread field for public environmental crisis.As a new platform, we need to know what characteristics the public environmentalcrisis communication willexhibitin microblog.How the public environmental crisisspread in the microblog? How will the communication subjects respectively constructtheir discourse power? What different communication functions will the publicenvironmental crisis communication exhibit in this new area of research?This article will take “haze” issue as an example to discuss how a publicenvironmental crisis spread in microblog. First, we will analysis the new features ofpublic environmental crisis communication inmicroblog, such as the content ofcommunication, way of communication, communication subject, the relation betweenthe communication subjects. Then we will use “haze” issue as an example to explorehow the government, public, media, environmental NGO and environmentalistsrespectively construct their discourse power, find the communication functions whichthe public environmental crisis communication exhibit in microblog.
