Compared with Europe and America, China’s ADR monitoring system is still at an early stage. As for ADR information analysis and application, there are still many things need to be improved. In recent years, with the continuous growing of China’s ADR report in number and drug varieties, the quantity of ADR monitoring data in the database has increased greatly. It is urgent and necessary to analyze and find out the useful and valuable information from a large number of ADR reports with advanced technology and data mining tools.In this paper, the technology of data warehouse, Online Analysising process(OLAP) and data mining are applied to the ADR information analysis and management. We expect to find a better method to analysis the occurrence patterns and rules of ADR data intelligently for this industry. In order to find ADR occurrence rules and extract hidden associations or patterns in ADR reports, such as age, gender, affected system, drug type etc. As an example, we use association rules Algorithm to find out the hidden associations or patterns of ceftriaxone sodium adverse reaction reports from Guangdong ADR monitoring system.This topic is based on Guangdong Province and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region of the adverse drug reaction monitoring platform. Through the development and establishing of inter-provincial ADR information sharing and data mining service platform, we expect to comprehensively enhance management quality and efficiency of the Pan-Pearl River Delta region related provinces of adverse drug reaction monitoring, so as to actively explore the regional ADR application of monitoring information to deepen the beneficial method.The present paper’s main research and innovation includes:1. ADR data standardlization. With Guangdong Province ADR center managers to complete a number of provincial-level ADR system data standardlization and database data analysis consolidation work, realize the rule base (including the ADR name, generic name, manufacturer name, and so on) the standardization, consistency management;2. All kinds of ADR report data preprocessing and data standardization, and performed data extraction, transformation and loading, the establishment of ADR data warehouse and OLAP multidimensional database, realize the Guangdong Province ADR monitoring center acquisition of various types of ADR event signal extraction and correlation factor analysis data mining processing;3. ADR intelligent data analysis, including various types of ADR summary statistics, multi-dimensional designs, ad hoc queries, multidimensional graphics display, is used to assist the leadership Guangdong Province ADR monitoring center and staff automatic production of various types of statements, to complete ADR information statistics analysis, and to discover the ADR warning signals and high risk of drug supervision and management decision to provide information support.
