In the industrial production, the innovation of control theory and method promotes therapid development of automatic control technology. With the continuous development andwide application of Automatic Control Technology, being an important part of modern controltechnology, the process control plays an important role in the process of production. In theprocess of industrial process, according to characteristics of different controlled objects, therequirements of most control system can be met with simple control system. However, thedynamic characteristics of some controlled object are unstable. In control process, there isperturbation with wide range which is frequent and severe so that the production process andcontrol process is complicated. In the production process with high control quality andprecision, Simple control system can’t fulfill the task of complicated control. Therefore,according to actual demands, combining the characteristics of the controlled objects, it can becontrolled with cascade control system.The Rockwell automation proposes integration architecture which consists of controlsystem with formidable function, open integrated network system and humanized operationinterface. With the high compatibility and high precision anti interference capability, controlsystem contains I/O modules which are flexible and efficient. The structure of three layer ofnetwork is transparent. Because of the same application protocol, seamless connection ofnetworks realizes high efficiency transmission for data and program between networks. Withthe design of humanized operation interface, enterprise managers can accomplish theintelligence operation for the control system. The Rockwell automation control platform laysthe foundation for efficient and stable working of industrial automation.In order to improve the quality of control system, in the Rockwell automation controlplatform, this paper designs the automation control of cascade control system for water level.According to the status of development of level control system in control process, this paperanalyses the idea that the cascade theory and the Rockwell automation platform can becombined. First of all, according to the character of research object, the working process is analyzed in theory. Then on the basis of theoretical analysis, mathematical model is built bymaking use of the mechanism method. And the system equipment is debugged realizing thestable operation of the water tank. Then the paper describes the process of allocating networkcommunications and correcting parameter of controller. By making use of programmingsoftware, the paper simulates research object and output curve. In the end, cascade controltheory is applied in practical process control level system. Compared with output curve ofsingle loop control system, the superiority of cascade control is proved. For the further studyof the cascade control, this paper provides a reference value.
