According to the environmental parameter monitoring requirements in greenhouse, a wireless monitoring and controlling system for temperature and humidity is developed. It overcomes the disadvantages of wired monitoring system, such as complicated wiring and difficult maintenance. The environmental parameters in every greenhouse were measured and controlled by microcontroller. The hardware and software of the monitoring system are discussed in detail.In terms of network communication, Serve/Client mode has been choosen by control tool Winsock in Microsoft Visual Basic. The interface of Winsock is simpler than the interface inside Visual Basic, then it’s easy to do the programming work. And this mode support TCP and UDP, it’s easy to make the work of data transmission come true, then two or many computers can communicate with each other. We can also release the data to the network and realize the design philosophy of long-distance environmental parameter monitoring.In terms of control strategy, the simple Fuzzy control algorithm has been improved. Fuzzy-PID control algorithm has been adopted to eliminate the steady state error occurred by simple Fuzzy control algorithm. This algorithm raises the confidence of Fuzzy algorithm and adapt the nonlinearity and time change character of greenhouse still better.The experimental results show that the developed monitoring system has the following features, such as simple structure, high reliability, good extensibility and flexible configuration. It can control and adjust automatically the environmental parameters in every greenhouse, and has project practicality and vendibility.
