The essence of today’s international competition is a technology and talent competition. In order to improve the comprehensive national strength and competitiveness, curriculum reform of basic education is critical. Among them, as a natural discipline that focuses on the experiment, physics in middle schools plays an important role in improving the student’s cognition of things and logical rigor. Therefore, in physics experiment teaching, how to use modern information technology to develop education resources, optimize the education process, cultivate and improve students’ basic quality is one of the important issues needed to be considered in education reform. With strong flexibility in controlling and timeliness, virtual experiment can serve as an important supplement to the traditional experimental teaching and learning. This thesis studies the virtual experimental method of middle school physics kinematics based on hand-painted sketch recognition. We try to infuse the hand-painted sketch recognition technology into physical kinematics experiment, thus build a simple, intuitive, more practical virtual experimental environment for the modern physics experiment teaching and learning in middle school.First of all, on the basis of related work, this thesis summarizes the lack of the existing experimental teaching method, and then puts forward the method to apply the hand-painted sketch recognition technology to physics experimental teaching and learning.Secondly, combining the characteristics of physical experiment teaching and sketch recognition technology, this thesis puts forward a novel figure recognition method that divides user’s input into five basic figures. The figures’ recognition process is determined by its using frequency, and then the recognition method and drawing method of figures are introduced in detail.Thirdly, this thesis constructs a virtual experimental prototype system of middle school physics kinematics based on figure recognition. System is divided into three layers, which in trun are input layer, process layer and output layer. Among them, the input layer is responsible for storing track points and removing noise points; process layer completes identifying figures’ type, integrating figure, trimming sketch and judging sketches’ relation; output layer is in charge of managing figure data and sketch data. Finally, in order to verify the feasibility of the method and effectiveness of the system, this thesis gives three examples of virtual experiment of physics kinematics. Experimental results show that the method of infusing the hand-painted sketch recognition technology into physical kinematics experimental teaching and learning is feasible and prototype system is effective. In future work, in order to enhancing system’s robustness and availability, we need to deeply study and optimize the system and add more functions accord with the users’ hand-painted operation habit.
