In the automobile body design which modeling design is a very important step and a comprehensive concept in the earliest stages of Vehicle Design. Modeling design impact on vehicle performance, appearance, marketing and other vehicle design directly, the important role goes without saying.With the features of the CAD (computer aided design) software are the increasingly rich and powerful, but a reality that any designer can not deny is existent. Requirements for CAD software designers become higher, but operation method of functional is more and more complex In the initial stages of vehicle modeling design, as design tools the combination of tradition paper and pen which distance between with the former become greater and greater. The too strict operational requirements of each function for CAD software is very bad for the designer's creative design thinking and design process. Therefore, at this stage designers are accustomed to use the traditional pen and paper to express the initial creative design thinking, then with using CAD software which will be transformed and presented in the computer for accurate design.The project "Research for Automobile Modeling 2D hand-painted and 3D Mathematical Model of integration of Key technology" is produced in this context. An important and indispensable part that convert the two-dimensional concept sketch design to three-dimensional computer mathematical model during the vehicle modeling design complete in a single system. Uniform two-dimensional sketch design and establishment of three-dimensional Mathematical modeling, making it a step. The vague or uncertain strokes based on hand-painted which belong to different parameters space, according to a particular algorithm fusion to the same parameter space, to form the most close to the design intent of a single stroke stylist, so as to basis for the follow free surface modeling work.The focus of this study is that in the ThinkDesign which is a geometric modeling engine, by using the method of commands based on hand-painted, create a three-dimensional automotive mathematical model. By identifying artistic strokes, analyze the form and characteristics of strokes, define the classification of the common forms of stroke. Through recognition process and converse the integration of multi-stroke, automatically fit strokes, and convert the lattice strokes to the vector strokes. Establish a spatial working plane or surface, convert the plane curve to the space curve. Unlike traditional CAD modification, establish modified model based on strokes. Through the representation of automotive model parameters to achieve through changing the parameters to adjust the surface shape, and ultimately to achieve that input based on two-dimensional digital pen to directly do three-dimensional surface modeling.The main innovation of this project examines is that through the mode of the integration, modification, and the parametric of multiple strokes, combine the continuous creative thinking process and the generation of three-dimensional mathematical model organically, build a brand new concept design environment and method.Implementation of this technology allows designers to create three-dimensional sketch directly, as very natural as can drawing two-dimensional sketch with the traditional pen and paper, Stimulate creative inspiration, improve the design efficiency, efficient use three-dimensional sketches to create three-dimensional mathematical model, speed up the design review process, reduce development cycle of automotive styling.
