As the most widely used language, English functions as either official or semi-official language in about 70 countries. With the advancement of world integration process, English education is being paid more and more attention worldwide.Kyrgyzstan, a land-locked country in middle Asia, borders on China and was once an ally of former Soviet Union. It has yielded tremendous fruits in national construction since its declaration of independence on August 31, 1991. With Kyrgyz being national language and Russian official language, Kyrgyzstan is characterized by multi-ethnicity and multi–languages and its foreign language education also displays “all flowers blooming together”, among which English has been in the dominant position.With methods of literature, questionnaire, interview, teaching activity observation and material object collection, this research has conducted a well-informed, thorough survey and analysis of English education situation in some kindergartens in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It attempts to obtain experience and deficiency to help find and solve problems in English education carried out in the local kindergartens.The thesis elaborates from three perspectives:Part one sets forth the background, aim, significance and design of this research, summarizes related literature home and abroad and defines two pairs of terms: one being “language acquisition and learning”, the other “kindergarten English education and bilingual education”.Part two first generalizes rough situation of kindergarten English education in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from a macro perspective, which lays a foundation for further analysis of the survey result in what follows. Then, it dwells upon features of kindergarten English education in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in six aspects: basic information of children English teachers, aims of kindergarten English education, content of English education, implementation of English education, environment of English education and cooperation between home and kindergarten.From three levels of kindergarten, children teachers and parents respectively, part three puts forward targeting suggestions and measures based on the survey analysis: kindergarten material environment should be bettered with the emphasis on staff construction; teachers should build scientific, healthy ideas of children English education and improve self-professional qualities; parents should strengthen communication with teachers for favorable conditions of children English learning. Meanwhile, some enlightenment for children Chinese education is proposed as well.
