Geography new curriculum reform requires middle school geography teaching to change learning style, developing students’ thinking habits, teachers should be good at guiding students to make meaningful learning, avoiding mechanical learning. Thinking graphics merged into teaching has been pointed by many studies, there are some researches on various types of thinking graphics ontology, some pay attention to the drawing methods of thinking pattern, but these thinking graphics generally reflect that use the difference of concept map and mind map in teaching, the application of mind map in geography teaching is also studied by the geography teachers of Xinjiang individual high school, but the lack of research on the concept map. In this paper, our research points focus on the use of cognitive map formed by concept map and mind map fusion model in geography teaching, which was proposed by professor Jiao Qiusheng.After the definition of the concept, taking drawing software Inspiration as an example to introduce the method of picture composition of cognitive map,carry out the investigation of the application of cognitive map in geography teaching in Xinjiang senior high school status quo, which is not only concerned about the application of traditional classroom cognitive map, will also be involved in the application of Digital Interactive Whiteboard, discussing from the student information and learning situation、geography teachers’ information and its teaching application、students’ evaluation of geography teachers’ teaching process、The students’ learning situation under the gender factor、Geography teaching condition these aspects. Putting forward a new application strategy and presented by cases, respectively, they are instructional design of using the brush drawing cognitive map of interactive electronic whiteboard. The instructional design of drawing cognitive map in the interactive whiteboard; in the interactive whiteboard in direct retrieval has been drawing good cognitive map, but the teaching design of some nodes is hidden. This study provides cases that the interactive electronic whiteboard is used as a projection to Geography teacher. At last, the paper puts forward the innovation of this research and the prospect of the geography teachers in senior high school.
