The development of economic globalization and ethnic regions of rapid social transformation has made Kaili Area in Guizhou Province become a truly multicultural society.As we all know, the ethnic elementary education is the foundation project of ethnic education development,to adapt to the multicultural social environment and meet the needs of different cultural background of students, the key is to develop multicultural teachers,just the so-called “education plans, teacher-centered”. However, the reality dilemma is that targeting multicultural teacher training did not appear in teacher education in ethnic areas.Multicultural consciousness belongs to the category of psychology, it is a kind of emotional attitudes and values.It has an important guide role in teacher’s cognitive activities and practical teaching work,the key to cultivate multicultural teachers is to improve teachers’ multicultural consciousness. Multicultural awareness with teachers can respect, understand and appreciate different cultures,show understanding and tolerance to the cultural differences,which are exhibited by students from different cultural backgrounds and so on. They have the ability to identify and critique multiculture,they can perceive and reflect on their own cultural values and behaviors.Junior middle school stage is the last stage of the basic education,it is a crucial period for students to learn and grow,the teachers of junior high school is one of the backbone of teachers for basic education.Raise the awareness of cultural diversity of junior middle school teachers is conducive to improve the level of ethnic elementary education teachers’ quality,solve the problem facing in the ethnic elementary education,practice the people-oriented education idea,cultivate individuals’ survival resilience and develop a multicultural society and build a harmonious society.Through a multicultural perspective, this study aims to draw lessons from multicultural education theory and multicultural teacher education theory and explore problems in the basic education of ethnic teachers construction.The breakthrough point is to improve the junior middle school teachers’ multicultural consciousness,the writer wants to innovate ethnic education teacher training strategy,which is in order to provide beneficial guidance to solve the current development of ethnic elementary education facing the reality plight. Investigate part of middle schools in kaili, this study used a combination of a variety of research methods,such as questionnaires, interviews,observation and other research methods to discuss related problems,which is the combination of quantitative and qualitative.First of all, taking some middle schools in Kaili for Respondentsto get to know Carey junior middle school teachers’ current multicultural consciousness in Kaili. The results show that most of the teachers’ attitude to social and cultural diversity and multicultural education are positive.To some extent,they show appreciation,understanding and tolerant attitude to different cultures,agree with the concept of multicultural education,emphasize the transfer of mainstream culture,at the same time,they also pay attention to the value and function of different subcultures. But there also exist the following problems:(1) Part of teachers in the multicultural society have difficulties in getting along with groups of different cultural backgrounds,they can not respect,understand and appreciate different cultures,lack of "empathy" and "culture into" ability,they have not been able to stand in a different cultural perspective.(2) Most of the teachers’ understanding of diverse cultural connotation is not deep, they lack the depth of the multicultural value dialysis, didn’t realize that the uniqueness of every culture and the importance to a nation,a country and even the world‘s development.(3) In the terms of preservation and inheriting the ethnic cultures, many teachers are caught in the paradoxical situation,don’t realize the importance of preserve their own culture.(4) Most of the teachers don’t have a clear understanding of the connotations and value of multicultural education,multicultural education training don’t cause the attention of teachers.They lack the deep motivation of multicultural education,failed to form this consciousness:Taking the concept of multicultural education education teaching.(5)Part of teachers exists stereotypes to students of different gender and have invisible discrimination of vulnerable groups,they don’t realize the importance of education equity and education democracy,and don’t realize that they should provide equal education opportunities for all students.(6)Between cognition and practice of multicultural education,many teachers appear disjointed phenomenon,they lack reflection ability of one’s own cultural values and behaviors.(7) Most of the teachers lack of multicultural education related knowledge and skills,which leads to teacher’s general lack of discrimination ability of different cultures,they also can’t stand in the perspective of different cultures to think the the root of problems in the education teaching.All in all,both from the teachers’ cognitive level and behavior level,that all reflects the teachers lack multicultural consciousness.Secondly,combined with the empirical data and the interview content,the author has analyzed the influence factors of junior high school teachers’ multicultural consciousness in Kaili. By analyzing the empirical data,the author found that teachers’ gender, teachers’ normal education experience will affect teachers’ multicultural consciousness. Sorting through the contents of the interviews and Classroom observation records, the author has a rich understanding on the influencing factors of teachers’ multicultural consciousness,which also confirms the results of the questionnaire. The author found that the junior high school teachers’ interest in multicultures, teachers’ education training,teachers’ professional background teachers’ individual education level and Exam-oriented education are the important factors that affect teachers’ multicultural consciousness.Finally,according to the problems existing in the multicultural consciousness and the influence factors of influence teachers’ multicultural awareness in Kaili area,combined with domestic and foreign related theory,the author puts forward the solutions to improve junior high school teachers’ multicultural consciousness. Specifically, the author has made some thinking from following five aspects:Junior high school teachers’ multicultural consciousness’ pre-service training,improving junior middle school teachers’ multicultural awareness in induction training and on-the-job education,setting multicultural education related courses in public elective courses in colleges and universities,the construction of security system,etc.
