This article focuses on the activity courses of the junior high school history textbooks. Since the beginning of the new curriculum reform in 2001, junior high school history textbooks with the history curriculum standard of junior middle school(2001 Edition) has created the history activity courses, In the experimental textbooks of junior middle school published by Zhonghua Publishing House, six textbooks are set up a certain number of activity courses, as a result, during the three years of junior high school learning, there are eighteen history activity courses totally. As a new form of the curriculum, the history activity course has its own characteristics and advantages, it is responsible for the teaching of history education and it represents the direction of the new curriculum reform. According to the modern educational concept of "activities to promote development", the comprehensive practical ability of the students can be developed in "activities" with focusing on strengthening their cooperation, innovation awareness and the ability to experience and feel the history in activities; Compared with the conventional history classroom teaching, the “history activity course” is a new teaching form, which was born under the new curriculum reform. It emphasizes the exploration of the historical study method and the practice of the historical experience. Therefore, the further discussion of the activity class in junior high school history textbook is a question worth thinking.In order to analysis and research to enhance effectiveness of the history activity lesson and suggest some proper strategies, this thesis which is based on the research idea of the theory and practice explores from the effective implementation level of activity courses in junior middle school history textbook,and collect the specific history activity lesson cases. Specifically, this thesis starts from the concepts of activity courses in junior high school history textbooks to have a clear understanding of the status and function of junior high school history activity class; Secondly, with the junior high school history textbook published by Zhonghua Publishing House as an example, the thesis analysises the type and setting of the historical activity class and find the specific starting point of activities to improve the effectiveness of history activity courses; Finally, the thesis finds the referential strategies benefiting to achieve "effective" learning through the collection of successful history activity lesson cases. We hope that with the guidance of the spirit of the new curriculum reform, we can make the history activity class play a practical and effective role in history teaching in junior middle school through this thesis.
